Every day at noon they launch one inventive consumer product or service and broadcast its story across the web. Each day you see an informative – and fun- video about the product and its origins. This site is awesome! And unlike “Flash Sale” sites, such as the wonderful Rue La La, The Daily Grommet leaves its daily offerings up for viewing any time.

        As owners of a pet products company, Handsome Hounds, of cour se we are interested in what The Daily Grommet might be offering in the pet area. What we found made us smile…a product which we love, and sell on our own website at www.handsomehounds.com, is also featured on The Daily Grommet! Ugh - it's raining out today, I hate it and my dog Hudson hates it even more!

That was me several years ago while living in New York City.  Of course in the city you have no choice but to walk your dog - I can't just let her out to run in the streets of NYC nor would she want to in the rain. 

Then as luck should have it, a friend of mine that had gone to Australia brought back a lovely wax cotton dog coat for my Hudson.  The first time I took Hudson out wearing the jacket, I thought to myself how fashionable she looked but then when we got home and I took the coat off of her, I was stunned she was completely dry in the area the coat was covering.  It was miraculous and she was much happier walking in the rain, she even seemed to hold her head higher while wearing the coat.  Although it keeps her dry, I thought there was a way to improve on the coat as there wasn't much of an underbelly covering and there was no protection for her head. 

It came to me a few years later after I moved to the Boston area that wouldn't it be great to develop a better wax cotton coat in more colors and sizes and hence the Handsome Hounds Wax Cotton Dog Coat was born.
